Teach Creativity Through Deliberate Creative Problem Solving

Websites that will help you develop creativity through deliberate creative problem solving:

  • WAGI Labs stands for What A Great Idea! It is an idea incubator for children ages 8-11 years. WAGI Labs encourages kids to use curiosity, compassion, and courage to create ideas that “do good” for people, animals, and the environment, calling them Kidpreneurs.

  • Youth Entrepreneurship Institute focuses on entrepreneurship and problem-solving for grades K-12. Based in Northeast Ohio, this program has recently expanded globally.

  • Invention Convention is a global invention education program teaching students problem-solving, creative thinking, and entrepreneurship to build confidence through invention. It integrates STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) learning with Invention and Entrepreneurship.

  • Odyssey of the Mind (OM) is an international creative problem-solving program developed over the last 40 years. Teams of students work with adult coaches to solve predefined challenges and present solutions at competitions.

  • Destination Imagination is similar to OM but offers a not-for-profit model, providing a range of challenges and annual competitions to teach creative problem-solving.

  • The National Inventors Hall of Fame offers a variety of programs for children of all ages, including problem-solving, inventing, prototyping, and hands-on STEM challenges, led by certified educators throughout the U.S.

  • For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) focuses on STEM-based challenges, with competitions that range from simple LEGO® robotic challenges for younger children to complex projects for high school students.
